Porto - Second Largest City in Portugal

Porto is not only famous for its harbour but but also for its historical buildings. In the 13th century it was an important trading centre. Its old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. Porto's train station, built in the early 20th century is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, showing images from many centuries. The city also has modern architecture, museums and galleries. Porto has become famous for the wine that bears its name. Port wine is made by adding brandy to the wine to give it its special flavour. Visitors to Porto can also choose from a variety of famous and traditional restaurants and cafes.
